A space for children,
families, and teachers to grow together

Magnolia Community Preschool is a private school with enrollment for 12 students aged 2 to 5 years old.

Our team is a group of highly experienced and motivated teachers who want to explore the nature of progressive education.

We use a mixed methods approach that focuses on forming powerful relationships in the context of play and community.

Taking cues from constructivist pedagogy and neurobiological research, we believe that early childhood education is not about “school-readiness” but rather, it is about “life-readiness”.

The experiences and relationships that a child creates in their early years form a “core self” they carry through life.

1:4 Teacher
to Child Ratio

Relationships are at the center of our curriculum. By having low teacher-to-child ratios, our team creates powerful connections with each child. We prefer to work in small groups of 2-3 children, focusing on high quality interactions that build kinship, trust, care, and joy.

Experience and Knowledge

Our teaching team has over 50 years combined teaching experience. Since we are as dedicated to learning as we are teaching, the school functions as a place to explore, discover, and develop pedagogical practices and apply current research.

An Environment Designed for Development

The environment is the “third” teacher. We are constantly designing, building, and re-designing the environment to suit the children’s needs and interests. We create spaces that are diverse and challenging and that engage children in every developmental domain.
